Sell across the border?
Your Dublin customers are minding theirs.
Northern Ireland exports £10.5bn a year to Ireland, more than to the rest of the world combined, and almost 70% of cross-border exporters are small businesses.
Under the EU's NIS2 rules, Irish organisations have to manage cyber risk in their supply chains. Expect your customers to start asking how you keep their data safe.
About the project
Mind Yer Business is part of CyberAxis.
CyberAxis is a Northern Ireland programme that helps local businesses understand their cyber security and connects them with a new generation of local cyber talent.
Most businesses here are micro or small, and most don't have anyone whose job is security. That makes people the biggest risk and the biggest opportunity. The free cyber check shows each business where it stands. Together, the results show where NI needs cyber skills most.

Questions
Your questions, answered.
Is the cyber readiness check really free?
Yes. It's completely free for businesses in Northern Ireland.
Who can take the check?
Any business based in Northern Ireland, whatever its size, from sole traders and small businesses to larger firms. It's only available to Northern Ireland businesses.
How long does it take?
About 10-15 minutes. You answer some quick questions about how your business handles passwords, backups, updates, email, staff access and suppliers. If you need to stop, you can log in later and pick up where you left off.
What do I get at the end?
Three things: a score showing where your business stands, the specific gaps leaving you exposed (including potential team skills missing), and a prioritised action plan in plain English, so you know what to fix first.
Do I need to be technical?
No. There's no jargon and no trick questions. The check is written for business owners and managers, not IT specialists.

What happens to my answers?
Your answers and report are held securely in our cloud provider's Ireland data centre, and only TalentSensus staff can see individual reports. We only ever share overall figures, never your business's results. Any published figures are anonymised and grouped, and no business is named without its consent. See our privacy notice for full details.
What if I need help fixing the gaps?
Your action plan is yours to keep. It's written in plain English so you can work through it at your own pace, or share it with whoever looks after your IT.
Is my business really at risk?
Most cyber attacks are automated. They don't target businesses by size; they look for the easiest way in. The UK Government's Cyber Security Breaches Survey found 43% of UK businesses reported a breach or attack in the last 12 months.
